✦ FINANCIAL DECISIONS DON'T COME WITH A WARNING LABEL

Avoid a big cost later, by setting yourself up properly now.

Running a business teaches you a lot, fast. But there's a set of financial decisions that you shouldn't neglect.

?

Have you replaced the cover you lost when you left employment, such as death in service, sick pay, and your employer paying into your pension?

?

Is your pension keeping pace, even though your income may move around?

?

Are you and the business protected if something happens to you?

?

Are lenders making it harder than it should be to get a mortgage, now you're self-employed?

?

Are you set up to keep more of what you've built, when you eventually sell?

None of it is complicated once someone's walked you through it. Most founders just never get the half hour.

✦ Who we help and how

Whatever stage you're at, there's a piece of this for you

From your first day working for yourself to the day you sell and beyond, here's what a female adviser can help you sort, and when.

Going solo

You've just left the safety net of employment behind, and most of it doesn't replace itself.

replacing the cover you lost: death in service, sick pay, employer pension contributions

income protection, now there's no sick pay behind you

relevant life cover, paid for by the business

a cash buffer sized for income that arrives in lumps

Finding your feet

The business is running. Now to build around income that moves around.

a pension you can pay more into in the good months, less in the lean ones

the self-employed mortgage, or remortgage, that lenders make harder than it needs to be

protection reviews as life changes: a partner, children, a bigger mortgage

Building a team

Your first hires arrive, and the business starts to depend on more than just you.

key person cover, if losing you or a key hire would hurt the business

setting up a workplace pension scheme as staff come on

employee benefits that help you keep good people

Scaling up

Profit is real, your income is higher, and the tax questions get sharper.

pension contributions as the lever on the tax traps that hit higher earners

shareholder protection, so co-founders can buy out a departing stake and the family gets paid

spreading your wealth beyond the business, so it isn't all in one place

Eyeing an exit

The idea of selling moves from someday to a real plan.

working out the number you actually need from a sale to be secure

Business Asset Disposal Relief, which has to be set up years ahead, not on the way out

EMI share schemes to reward the people who got you here

Life after the sale

The deal completes, and the question becomes what now.

what to do with a lump sum, without being sold the wrong thing

income planning for whatever comes next

estate and inheritance planning once the wealth is real

✦ COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

Is the call really free?

Yes. No charge, no obligation, and no card details to book it.

Will I be pushed to buy something?

No. Lizzie's job on the call is to work out what you need. If protection is your only gap, that's all you'll be advised on, and that part's free.

My business is very new, or not turning a profit yet. Is it too early?

No. Some of the most useful things sit right at the start, like replacing the cover you lost when you left employment and getting protection in place. Wherever you are on the timeline above, there's something worth doing.

Do I need a certain income or level of assets to qualify?

No. There's no minimum salary or asset level for this package.

Do I need to know anything about pensions or tax before the call?

No. That's what the call's for.
